Panel 1: Rose
is in Iz's hospital room. She holds his hand and strokes his cheek. He
is more alert now but still too weak to move or speak. He
is back in the hospital gown and the mask. He is capable of
communication; he can squeeze someone's hand once for yes and twice for
no.
Rose: Hi, Iz. It's Rose.
Panel 2:
Rose: I know you can't move, and it must be frustrating. Do...do you know where you are?
Iz squeezes her hand once.
Panel 3: Rose presses her forehead against his, and both of them close their eyes.
Rose: I missed you so much.
Panel 4: Rose sits back up.
Rose: However, I've enjoyed bonding with your parents. Want me to tell you some of your dad's jokes?
Iz, eyes wide, squeezes her hand twice.
